Go then and make disciples of all the nations, baptize them into the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and teach them to practice all the commands that I have given you. And I myself will surely be with you all the days, down to the very close of an age."

And He appointed the Twelve, to whom He gave the title, apostles, to be with Him, to send them forth to preach, and to have the right to drive out the demons.

And He called the Twelve to Him and sent them out two by two, and gave them power over the foul spirits. He ordered them not to take anything for the journey except a staff, no bread, no bag, no money in the purse; they were to go with plain sandals on their feet and not to wear two shirts. read more.
And He continued to say to them, "Whenever you put up at a house, stay there until you leave that place. And if any place refuses to welcome you or to listen to you, when you leave there shake off the very dust from the soles of your feet as a warning to them."

Then He called the Twelve together and gave them power and authority over all the demons, and to cure diseases, and then He sent them out to preach the kingdom of God and to cure the sick. So He said to them, "Take nothing with you for your journey, no staff, no bag, no bread, no money, nor even have two shirts. read more.
Into whatever house you go, stay there and continue to go out from it as headquarters. And when you leave that city, shake off the very dust from your feet as a protest against all the people who do not welcome you."

Yet you have continued to stand by me in my trials; and as my Father has conferred on me a kingdom, so I confer on you the privilege of eating and drinking at my table in my kingdom and of sitting on thrones and judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

If you get forgiveness for people's sins, they are forgiven them; if you let people's sins fasten upon them, they will remain fastened upon them."

After they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon, son of John, are you more devoted to me than you are to these things?" Peter answered Him, "Yes, Lord, you know that I tenderly love you." Jesus said to him, "Then feed my lambs." Jesus again said to him a second time, "Simon, son of John, are you really devoted to me?" He said to Him, "Yes, Lord, you know that I tenderly love you." Jesus said to him, "Then be a shepherd to my sheep." For the third time Jesus asked him, "Simon, son of John, do you really tenderly love me?" Peter was hurt because Jesus the third time asked him, "Do you really tenderly love me?" So he answered Him, "Lord, you know everything; you know that I do tenderly love you." Jesus said to him, "Then feed my sheep. read more.
I most solemnly say to you, when you were young, you used to put on your own belt and go where you pleased, but when you grow old, you will stretch out your hands and someone else will put a belt on you and you will go where you do not please to go." He said this to point out the sort of death by which Peter was to glorify God. So after He had said this, He said to Peter, "Keep on following me!"

"Again, if your brother wrongs you, go and while alone with him show him the wrong. If he listens to you, you have won back your brother. But if he does not listen to you, take along with you one or two others, so as to have every word confirmed by the testimony of two or three witnesses. If he refuses to listen to them, report it to the church. And if he refuses to listen to the church, treat him as a heathen and as a tax-collector. read more.

Later on He appeared to the Eleven themselves while they were at table, and reproved them for their lack of faith and their stubbornness, because they had not believed those who had seen Him after He had been raised from the dead. Then He said to them, "You must go all over the world and preach the good news to all the creation. He who believes it and is baptized will be saved, but he who does not believe it will be condemned. read more.
And the following signs will attend those who believe: By using my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in foreign languages; they will take snakes in their hands; even if they drink anything poisonous, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will get well."

Even while they were talking about these things, He took His stand among them Himself, [and said to them, "Peace to you!"] and they were so startled and terror-stricken that they were beginning to think that they saw a ghost. But He said to them, "Why are you so disturbed and why are doubts arising in your hearts? read more.
Look at my hands and my feet, for it is I, myself. Feel of me and see for yourselves, for a ghost does not have flesh and bones, as you see I have." [After He had said this He showed them His hands and His feet.] So while they were still disbelieving for sheer joy and still wondering about it, He asked them, "Have you anything here to eat?" Then they gave Him a piece of broiled fish, and He took it and ate it before their eyes. Then He said to them, "This is what I told you while I was still with you, that everything which is written about me in the law of Moses, in the prophets, and in the Psalms, had to be fulfilled." Then He opened their minds so that they might continue to understand the Scriptures, and said to them, "The Scriptures said that the Christ should suffer as He has suffered, should rise from the dead on the third day, and that in His name repentance as the condition for the forgiveness of sins should be preached to all the nations. Beginning at Jerusalem you are to continue as witnesses to these things. And I will send down upon you what my Father has promised. But you, on your part, must stay right here in the city until you are clothed with power from on high."

In the evening of that same first day of the week, even with the doors of the room bolted where the disciples had met for fear of the Jews, Jesus went in and stood among them and said to them, "Peace be with you!"
