But after his brothers had gone up to the festival, then Jesus went up also, not publicly, but as though he did not wish to be observed. Now the Jews were looking for him at the festival and asking where he was, and there was a great deal of muttering about him among the crowds, some saying that he was a good man, and others that he was not, but was imposing on the people. But no one spoke of him in public, for fear of the Jews. But when the festival was half over, Jesus went up to the Temple and began to teach.

Jesus said to him, "Foxes have holes, and wild birds have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head!" He said to another, "Follow me." But he said, "Let me first go and bury my father." Jesus said to him, "Leave the dead to bury their own dead; you must go and spread the news of the Kingdom of God!" Yet another man said to him, "Master, I am going to follow you, but let me first say goodbye to my people at home." Jesus said to him, "No one who puts his hand to the plough, and then looks back, is fitted for the Kingdom of God."
