Joshua the son of Nun sent out of Shittim two men to spy secretly. He said: Go view the land of Jericho. They went to a prostitute named Rahab, and stayed at her house. The king of Jericho was told: Men of the children of Israel came here tonight to search out the country. The king of Jericho sent for Rahab, saying: Bring the men that came to you and stayed at your house. They came to spy on all the country.
