Can a man take fire in his bosom and his clothes not be burned? Can one go upon hot coals, and his feet not be burned? So is he that goes in to his neighbour's wife; whosoever touches her shall not be innocent. Men do not take a thief lightly, even if he steals to satisfy his soul when he is hungry; and once he is taken, he shall restore sevenfold; he shall give all the substance of his house. But whosoever commits adultery with a woman has a fault in his heart; he that does it corrupts his own soul. A wound and dishonour shall he get, and his reproach shall never be wiped away. For the jealous rage of a man will not spare in the day of vengeance.

There are three things which are hidden from me, yea, four which I know not: The track of the eagle in the air; the track of the serpent upon the rock; the track of the ship in the midst of the sea; and the track of the man in the maid. Such is the track of an adulterous woman; she eats, and wipes her mouth, and says, I have done no wickedness.

And the man that will act presumptuously and will not hearken unto the priest that stands to minister there before the LORD thy God, or unto the judge, even that man shall die; and thou shalt put away the evil from Israel.

Six days shall work be done, but the seventh day shall be holy unto you, a sabbath of rest to the LORD; whoever does work therein shall die.

But if the ox were wont to push with his horn in time past and it has been testified to his owner, and he has not kept him in, but that he has killed a man or a woman; the ox shall be stoned, and his owner also shall be put to death.

If a man shall join himself with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them. And if a man takes a wife and her mother, it is wickedness; they shall be burnt with fire, both he and they; that there be no wickedness among you. And if a man copulates with a beast, he shall surely be put to death, and ye shall slay the beast. And if a woman approaches any animal, to join herself with it, thou shalt kill the woman and the animal; they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon themselves. And if a man shall take his sister, his father's daughter, or his mother's daughter and see her nakedness, and she see his nakedness; it is a wicked thing; and they shall be killed in the sight of the sons of their people; he has uncovered his sister's nakedness; he shall bear his iniquity. And if a man shall lie with a woman having her menstruation and shall uncover her nakedness, he has discovered her fountain, and she has uncovered the fountain of her blood; both of them shall be cut off from among their people. Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy mother's sister, nor of thy father's sister; for he uncovers his near kin; they shall bear their iniquity. And if a man shall lie with his uncle's wife, he has uncovered his uncle's nakedness; they shall bear their sin; they shall die childless. And if a man shall take his brother's wife, it is an unclean thing; he has uncovered his brother's nakedness; they shall be childless.
