I tell you that on the day of judgment, people will give an account for every worthless word they speak.
"For this reason, the kingdom of heaven is like a king who wanted to settle accounts with his slaves.
"For this reason I am sending you prophets and wise men and experts in the law, some of whom you will kill and crucify, and some you will flog in your synagogues and pursue from town to town,
After a long time, the master of those slaves came and settled his accounts with them.
But God said to him, 'You fool! This very night your life will be demanded back from you, but who will get what you have prepared for yourself?'
But the one who did not know his master's will and did things worthy of punishment will receive a light beating. From everyone who has been given much, much will be required, and from the one who has been entrusted with much, even more will be asked.
When he returned after receiving the kingdom, he summoned these slaves to whom he had given the money. He wanted to know how much they had earned by trading.
Therefore, each of us will give an account of himself to God.
So they are astonished when you do not rush with them into the same flood of wickedness, and they vilify you. They will face a reckoning before Jesus Christ who stands ready to judge the living and the dead.

Watch out! Stay alert! For you do not know when the time will come. It is like a man going on a journey. "But be on your guard so that your hearts are not weighed down with dissipation and drunkenness and the worries of this life, and that day close down upon you suddenly like a trap. For it will overtake all who live on the face of the whole earth. But stay alert at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that must happen, and to stand before the Son of Man."

I tell you that on the day of judgment, people will give an account for every worthless word they speak.
