Now the Jews' feast of tabernacles was at hand. His brethren therefore said unto him, Depart hence, and go into Judaea, that thy disciples also may see the works that thou doest. They zealously affect you, but not well; yea, they would exclude you, that ye might affect them.
For ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews' religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it: And profited in the Jews' religion above many my equals in mine own nation, being more exceedingly zealous of the traditions of my fathers.
For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.
They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service.

Be not righteous over much; neither make thyself over wise: why shouldest thou destroy thyself?
