Then went Jesus with them to a place called Gethsemane, and saith to the disciples, Sit here, while I go there and pray: and having taken with Him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, He began to be sorrowful and much distressed; and saith unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful even unto death, stay here and watch with me. read more.
And going a little farther, He prostrated himself, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as thou wilt. And coming to the disciples, he findeth them asleep, and saith to Peter, what! could ye not watch with me one hour? Watch and pray that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. And going away again, the second time He prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass from me, unless I drink it, thy will be done. And He came and found them asleep again, for their eyes were heavy. And He left them, and went away again, and prayed the third time, to the same effect. Then He cometh to his disciples and saith, Are ye sleeping still and taking your rest? behold, the hour is come, and the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners. Rise, let us go, see the traitor is at hand. And while He was yet speaking, behold, Judas one of the twelve came, and with him a great number, with swords and staves, from the chief priests and elders of the people: (now he that betrayed Him, had given them a signal, saying, The man whom I shall kiss is He, lay hold of Him:) and going directly up to Jesus, he said, Hail master, and kissed Him. And Jesus said to him, Friend, wherefore art thou come? then they came up and laid hands on Jesus, and apprehended Him.

And they laid their hands on Him, and apprehended Him.

And when He rose up from prayer, He came to his disciples and found them sleeping for sorrow; and He said to them, Why do ye sleep? rise and pray, that ye enter not into temptation. And while He was yet speaking, behold a multitude; and he that was called Judas, one of the twelve apostles, came before them, and drew near unto Jesus to kiss Him: and Jesus said to him, Judas, betrayest thou the Son of man with a kiss? But when they that were about Him saw what would follow, they said to Him, Lord, shall we smite with the sword?

And being in agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was like clotted blood falling down upon the ground. And when He rose up from prayer, He came to his disciples and found them sleeping for sorrow; and He said to them, Why do ye sleep? rise and pray, that ye enter not into temptation. And while He was yet speaking, behold a multitude; and he that was called Judas, one of the twelve apostles, came before them, and drew near unto Jesus to kiss Him: and Jesus said to him, Judas, betrayest thou the Son of man with a kiss? But when they that were about Him saw what would follow, they said to Him, Lord, shall we smite with the sword?
When Jesus had spoken these words, He went out with his disciples over the brook Kedron; where there was a garden, into which He entred, and his disciples. Now Judas who was gone to betray Him, knew the place: for Jesus often met there together with his disciples: Judas therefore having got a band of soldiers,
