And He entered into a boat, and passed over, and came to His own city. And behold, they brought to Him a paralytic, lying on a bed. And Jesus, seeing their faith, said to the paralytic, Child, be of good cheer. Your sins are forgiven you. And lo, some of the scribes said within themselves, This one blasphemes. read more.
And Jesus, knowing their thoughts, said, Why do you think evil in your hearts? For which is easier? To say, Your sins are forgiven you, or to say, Arise and walk! But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins, then He said to the paralytic, Arise, take up your bed and go to your house. And he arose and departed to his house. But when the crowds saw, they marveled and glorified God, who had given such authority to men.

And again He entered into Capernaum after some days. And it was heard that He was in a house. And immediately many were gathered, so that none any longer had room, even to the door. And He proclaimed the Word to them. Then they came to Him, bringing one who was paralyzed, who was carried by four. read more.
When they could not come near to Him because of the crowd, they unroofed the roof where He was. And digging through, they let down the cot on which the paralytic was lying. And seeing their faith, Jesus said to the paralytic, Child, your sins are forgiven to you. But some of the scribes were sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts, Why does this one speak such blasphemies? Who can forgive sins except God only? And instantly knowing in His spirit that they reasoned so within themselves, He said to them, Why do you reason these things in your heart? Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, Your sins are forgiven you; or to say, Arise, and take up your cot and walk? But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority upon earth to forgive sins, He said to the paralytic, I say to you, Arise, and take up your cot, and go to your house. And immediately he arose and took up his cot and went out before all. So that all were amazed and glorified God, saying, We never saw it this way.

And it happened on one of the days, even He was teaching. And Pharisees and teachers of the Law were sitting by, who had come out of every village of Galilee and Judea and Jerusalem. And the power of the Lord was there, for the curing of them. And behold, men carrying, on a cot, a man who was paralyzed. And they sought to bring him in and to lay him before Him. And not finding a way by which they might bring him in through the crowd, going up on the housetop, they let him down through the tiles with his cot into the midst, before Jesus. read more.

and you will not come to Me that you might have life.

I have come in My Father's name, and you do not receive Me. If another shall come in his own name, him you will receive.

But going out, he began to proclaim it very much, and to spread about the matter, so that Jesus could no more openly enter into the city, but was outside in deserted places. And they came to Him from every quarter.


And those who passed by blasphemed Him, wagging their heads and saying, Aha! You razing the temple and building it in three days, save yourself and come down from the cross! And also the chief priests mocking, with the scribes, said to one another, He saved others but he cannot save himself. read more.
Let Christ the King of Israel now come down from the cross, so that we may see and believe. And they who were crucified with Him insulted Him.

And the Pharisees came out and began to dispute with Him, seeking a sign from Heaven from Him, tempting Him. And He sighed deeply in His spirit and said, Why does this generation seek a sign? Truly I say to you, There shall no sign be given to this generation.

For if you had believed Moses, you would have believed Me, for he wrote of Me. But if you do not believe his writings, how shall you believe My Words?
