And Jesus said, "Who [is] the one who touched me?" And [when they] all denied [it], Peter said, "Master, the crowds are pressing you hard and crowding [you]!"

And many had gathered, so that [there was] no longer room, not even at the door, and he was speaking the word to them.

For he had healed many, so that all those who {were suffering from diseases} pressed about him in order that they could touch him.

And he went with him, and a large crowd was following him and pressing around him.

Now it happened that while the crowd was pressing around him and hearing the word of God, he was standing beside the lake of Gennesaret,

Now his mother and brothers came to him, and they were not able to meet with him because of the crowd.


And behold, a woman who had been suffering with a hemorrhage twelve years approached from behind [and] touched the edge of his cloak, for she said to herself, "If only I touch his cloak I will be healed." But Jesus, turning around and seeing her, said, "Have courage, daughter! Your faith has healed you." And the woman was healed from that hour.

For he had healed many, so that all those who {were suffering from diseases} pressed about him in order that they could touch him.

And [after they] had crossed over, they came to land at Gennesaret. And [when] the men of that place recognized him, they sent [word] into that whole surrounding region, and they brought to him all those {who were sick}. And they were imploring him that they might only touch the edge of his cloak, and all those who touched [it] were cured.

And the whole crowd was seeking to touch him, because power was going out from him and healing [them] all.

And [as] they were getting out of the boat, [people] recognized him immediately. They ran about [through] that whole region and began to carry around those {who were sick} on stretchers, wherever they heard that he was. And wherever he would go, into villages or into towns or to farms, they would put those who were sick in the marketplaces and would implore him that if they could touch even the edge of his cloak. And all those who touched it were healed.

Now Jesus, [when he] learned of [it], withdrew from there, and many followed him, and he healed them all. And he warned them that they should not {reveal his identity}, in order that what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah would be fulfilled, who said, read more.
"Behold my servant whom I have chosen, my beloved in whom my soul is well pleased. I will put my Spirit on him, and he will proclaim justice to the Gentiles. He will not quarrel or cry out, nor will anyone hear his voice in the streets. A crushed reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not extinguish, until he brings justice to victory. And in his name the Gentiles will hope.

And Jesus went away with his disciples to the sea, and a great crowd from Galilee followed [him]. And from Judea and from Jerusalem and from Idumea and the other side of the Jordan and around Tyre and Sidon a great crowd came to him [because they] heard all that he was doing. And he told his disciples that a small boat should stand ready for him because of the crowd, so that they would not press upon him. read more.

And he came down to Capernaum, a town of Galilee, and was teaching them on the Sabbath. And they were astounded at his teaching, because {he spoke} with authority. And in the synagogue there was a man who had the spirit of an unclean demon, and he cried out with a loud voice, read more.
"Ha! {Leave us alone}, Jesus the Nazarene! Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are--the Holy One of God!" And Jesus rebuked him, saying, "Be silent and come out of him!" And [after] throwing him down in their midst, the demon came out of him without hurting him at all. And amazement came upon [them] all, and they began to talk with one another, saying, "What word [is] this? For he commands the unclean spirits with authority and power, and they come out!"

And Jesus went away with his disciples to the sea, and a great crowd from Galilee followed [him].
