Disciples/apostles » What the disciples are
So you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but you are fellow-citizens of God's people and members of His family; for you are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus Himself the cornerstone.

Keep on rejoicing and leaping for ecstasy, for your reward will be rich in heaven; for this is the way they persecuted the prophets who lived before you. "You are the salt of the earth. But if salt loses its strength, what can make it salt again? It is good for nothing but to be thrown away and trodden under foot. You are the light of the world. A city that is built upon a hill cannot be hidden. People do not light a lamp and put it under a peck-measure but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all that are in the house. Let your light shine before people in such a way that they may see your good deeds, and praise your Father in heaven.

Stop forming intimate and inconsistent relations with unbelievers. What partnership can right-doing have with law-breaking, or how can light participate with darkness? What harmony exists between Christ and Belial, or what is common between a believer and an unbeliever? And what agreement can a temple of God make with idols? but we do see Jesus, who was made inferior to the angels for a little while, crowned with glory and honor because He suffered death, so that by God's favor He might experience death for every human being. Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will get into the kingdom of heaven, but only those who practice doing the will of my Father in heaven.
Jesus answered them, "My teaching is not my own, but it comes from Him who sent me. If anyone is willing to keep on doing God's will, he will know whether my teaching comes from God, or merely expresses my own ideas.
