But Jesus perceived it, and withdrew from that place. And many multitudes followed him, and he cured them all. And he charged them not to make him known; that the word might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: read more.

For he cured many, so that as many as had diseases rushed upon him, that they might touch him. And unclean spirits, when they saw him, fell down before him, and cried out, saying: Thou art the Son of God. And he strictly charged them, that they should not make him known.


Then the chief priests and the Pharisees called together the Sanhedrin, and said: What are we doing? For this man does many signs. If we thus let him alone, all will believe on him, and the Romans will come and take away our place and our nation.
