Now Jesus called his disciples to him and said, "I have compassion on the multitude, because they have been with me three days and have nothing to eat. And I do not want to send them away hungry, lest they faint on the way." Then his disciples said to him, "Where could we get enough bread in the wilderness to feed such a great crowd?" And Jesus said to them, "How many loaves do you have?" They said, "Seven, and a few small fish." read more.
He told the crowd to sit down on the ground. Then he took the seven loaves and the fish, and having given thanks he broke them and gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the crowds. And they all ate and were satisfied; and they took up seven baskets full of the broken pieces that were left over. Now those who ate were four thousand men, besides women and children. And he sent away the crowds, got into the boat, and went to the region of Magadan.
He told the crowd to sit down on the ground. Then he took the seven loaves and the fish, and having given thanks he broke them and gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the crowds. And they all ate and were satisfied; and they took up seven baskets full of the broken pieces that were left over. Now those who ate were four thousand men, besides women and children. And he sent away the crowds, got into the boat, and went to the region of Magadan.
In those days, when again a great crowd had gathered, and they had nothing to eat, Jesus called his disciples to him, and said to them, "I have compassion on the multitude, because they have now been with me three days and have nothing to eat. And if I send them away hungry to their homes, they will faint on the way; and some of them have come a long distance." read more.
And his disciples answered him, "How can one feed these men with bread here in the desert?" And he asked them, "How many loaves do you have?" They said, "Seven." So he commanded the crowd to sit down on the ground. And he took the seven loaves, and having given thanks he broke them and gave them to his disciples to set before the people; and they set them before the crowd. They also had a few small fish; and having blessed them, he commanded that these also should be set before them.
