for [the] company of [the] godless [is] barren, and fire consumes the tents of those who accept bribes.

Ah! Those who {join} house with house, they join field together with field until {there is no place} and you are caused to dwell alone in the midst of the land. Yahweh of hosts [said] in my ears: {Surely} many houses shall become a desolation, large and beautiful [ones] without inhabitant. For ten acres of vineyard shall yield one bath, and [the] seed of a homer will yield an ephah.

But knowing their thoughts, he said to them, "Every kingdom divided against itself is laid waste, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand.

But he, knowing their thoughts, said to them, "Every kingdom divided against itself is laid waste, and {a divided household} falls.


But knowing their thoughts, he said to them, "Every kingdom divided against itself is laid waste, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand.

But he, knowing their thoughts, said to them, "Every kingdom divided against itself is laid waste, and {a divided household} falls.

Sheol and Abaddon [are] before Yahweh, {how much more} the hearts of the children of men!

Yet, Yahweh of hosts, who tests [the] righteous, who sees [the] {heart} and [the] {mind}, let me see your retribution upon them, for to you I have revealed my legal case.


And immediately Jesus, perceiving in his spirit that they were reasoning like this within themselves, said to them, "Why are you considering these [things] in your hearts?

But he knew their thoughts and said to the man who had the withered hand, "Get up and stand in the middle," and he got up [and] stood there.


and because he did not {need} anyone {to testify} about man, for he himself knew what was in man.

And God, who knows the heart, testified to them [by] giving [them] the Holy Spirit, just as he also [did] to us.


But knowing their thoughts, he said to them, "Every kingdom divided against itself is laid waste, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand. And if Satan expels Satan, he is divided against himself. How then will his kingdom stand? And if I expel demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your sons expel [them]? For this [reason] they will be your judges! read more.
But if I expel demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you!

But the Pharisees, [when they] heard [it], said, "This man does not expel demons except by Beelzebul the ruler of demons!" read more.

For this [reason] I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven people, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven! And whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him. But whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him either in this age or in the coming one! "Either make the tree good and its fruit [is] good, or make the tree bad and its fruit [is] bad, for the tree is known by its fruit. Offspring of vipers! How are you able to say good things [when you] are evil? For from the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. The good person from his good treasury brings out good [things], and the evil person from his evil treasury brings out evil [things]. But I tell you that every worthless word that they speak, people will give an account for it on the day of judgment! For by your words you will be vindicated, and by your words you will be condemned."

and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him. And he went home, and the crowd gathered again, so that they were not even able to eat a meal. And [when] {his family} heard [this], they went out to restrain him, for they were saying, "He has lost his mind!" read more.
And the scribes who had come down from Jerusalem were saying, "He is possessed by Beelzebul!" and "By the ruler of the demons he expels the demons!" And he called them to himself [and] was speaking to them in parables, "How can Satan expel Satan? And if a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom is not able to stand. And if a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand. And if Satan has risen up against himself and is divided, he is not able to stand, but is at an end! But no one is able to enter into the house of a strong [man] [and] plunder his property unless he first ties up the strong [man], and then he can thoroughly plunder his house. "Truly I say to you that all the sins and the blasphemies will be forgiven the sons of men, however much they blaspheme. But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit does not have forgiveness {forever}, but is guilty of [an] eternal sin"-- because they were saying, "He has an unclean spirit."

And he was expelling a mute demon. Now it happened that [when] the demon came out, the man who had been mute spoke, and the crowds were astonished. But some of them said, "By Beelzebul the ruler of demons he expels demons!"

But when a stronger man attacks him [and] conquers him, he takes away his full armor in which he trusted and distributes his plunder. "Whenever an unclean spirit has gone out of a person, it travels through waterless places searching for rest, and does not find [it]. It says, 'I will return to my house from which I came out.' And [when it] arrives it finds [the house] swept and put in order. Then it goes and brings along seven other spirits more evil than itself, and [they] go in [and] live there. And the last [state] of that person becomes worse than the first!"

Now [as] they were going away, behold, they brought to him a demon-possessed man [who was] unable to speak. And [after] the demon had been expelled, the one who had been mute spoke, and the crowds were astonished, saying, "{This has never been seen before} in Israel!"

Then a demon-possessed man [who was] blind and mute was brought to him. And he healed him so that the [man who was] mute could speak and see. And all the crowds were amazed and began saying, "Perhaps this one is the Son of David!" "All of the wicked [one's] days he is writhing, even [through] the number of years that are laid up for the tyrant. Sounds of terror [are] in his ears; in prosperity [the] destroyer will come [against] him. {He cannot trust that he will return} from darkness, and he himself is destined for [the] sword. read more.
"He is wandering for bread, [saying], 'Where [is it]?' He knows that a day of darkness [is] ready {at hand}. Anguish and distress terrify him; they overpower him like a king ready for the battle. Because he stretched out his hand against God, and he was arrogant to Shaddai; he {stubbornly} runs against him {with his thick-bossed shield}.
