Is not this one the son of the carpenter? Is not his mother called Mary and his brothers James and Joseph and Simon and Judas?
And [while] he was still speaking to the crowds, behold, his mother and brothers were standing there outside, desiring to speak to him.
And his mother and his brothers arrived, and standing outside, they sent [word] to him to summon him.
After this he went down to Capernaum, and his mother and brothers and his disciples, and they stayed there {a few} days.
So his brothers said to him, "Depart from here and go to Judea, so that your disciples also can see your works that you are doing.
(For not even his brothers believed in him.)
Do we not have the right to take along a sister [as] wife, like the rest of the apostles and the brothers of the Lord and Cephas?
but I did not see [any] others of the apostles except James, the brother of the Lord.

Consequently, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but you are fellow citizens of the saints and members of the household of God, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone,

Blessed [are] the pure in heart, because they will see God. Blessed [are] the peacemakers, because they will be called sons of God. Blessed [are] those who are persecuted because of righteousness, because theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when they insult you and persecute [you] and say all kinds of evil things against you, lying on account of me. Rejoice and be glad, because your reward [is] great in heaven, for in the [same] way they persecuted the prophets before you. "You are the salt of the earth. But if salt becomes tasteless, by what will it be made salty? It is good for nothing any longer except to be thrown outside [and] trampled under foot by people. You are the light of the world. A city located on top of a hill cannot be hidden, nor do they light a lamp and place it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it shines on all those in the house. In the [same] way let your light shine before people, so that they can see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

For, I think, God has exhibited us apostles last of all, as condemned to death, because we have become a spectacle to the world and to angels and to people. Until the present hour we are both hungry and thirsty and poorly clothed and roughly treated and homeless, read more.

So Jesus answered them and said, "My teaching is not mine, but [is] from the one who sent me. If anyone wants to do his will, he will know about my teaching, whether it is from God or I am speaking from myself.
