Then the apostles came back and described all they had done to Jesus. He took them and retired in private to a town called Bethsaida,
after he had dismissed the crowds he went up the hill by himself to pray. When evening came he was there alone,
Then Jesus removed from that country and went along the sea of Galilee; he went up the hillside and sat there.
Six days afterwards Jesus took Peter, James and his brother John, and led them up a high hill by themselves;
Now as Jesus was about to go up to Jerusalem he took the twelve aside by themselves and said to them as they were on the road,
And he said to them, "Come away to some lonely spot and get a little rest" (for there were many people coming and going, and they could get no time even to eat).
Leaving there, he went away to the territory of Tyre and Sidon. He went into a house and wished no one to know of it, but he could not escape notice;
He withdrew about a stone's throw and knelt in prayer,

When the disciples heard the voice they fell on their faces in terror; but Jesus came forward and touched them, saying, "Rise, have no fear." And on raising their eyes they saw no one except Jesus all alone. As they went down the hill Jesus ordered them, "Tell this vision to nobody until the Son of man is raised from the dead." The disciples inquired of him, "Then why do the scribes say that Elijah has to come first?" He replied, "Elijah to come and restore all things? Nay, I tell you Elijah has already come, but they have not recognized him ??they have worked their will on him. And the Son of man will suffer at their hands in the same way." Then the disciples realized he was speaking to them about John the Baptist.
