For this reason I say to you, Be not anxious for your life, what you shall eat, and what you shall drink; nor for your body, what you shall put on. Is not your life a greater gift than food, and your body than clothing? Observe the birds of the air, that they neither sow, nor reap, nor gather into granaries. Yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much better than they? Which of you, by his anxiety, can add one span to his life? read more.
And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field how they grow: they toil not, nor do they spin. But I say to you, That Solomon, in all his glory, was not clothed like one of these. If then, God so clothes the herb of the field, which to-day is, and to-morrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, you of little faith? Therefore, be not anxious, saying: What shall we eat? or, what shall we drink? or, with what shall we be clothed? For after all these things do the Gentiles seek: for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness, and all these things shall be given to you in addition. Therefore, be not anxious about the morrow, for the morrow will have anxieties of its own. Sufficient for the day is its own evil.

And he said to his disciples: For this reason I say to you, Be not anxious for your life, what you shall eat; nor for your body, what you shall put on. If, then, God so clothes the herb of the field, which to-day is, and to-morrow is cast into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, you of little faith? And seek not what you shall eat, or what you shall drink, and be not in anxious suspense. For all these things the nations of the world seek after; but your Father knows that you have need of these things. But seek the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be given you in addition. Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom. Sell what you have, and be charitable. Make for yourselves purses that do not become old, an unfailing treasure in the heavens, where no thief comes near, and no moth corrupts. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Be anxious about nothing, but in every thing, by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God: and the peace of God, which passes all understanding, will keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Humble yourselves, therefore, under the strong hand of God, that he may exalt you in due season. Cast all your cares on him, for he cares for you.

While he was yet speaking, some came from the ruler of the synagogue, who said: Your daughter is dead; why give the Teacher further trouble? But as soon as Jesus heard what was spoken, he said to the ruler of the synagogue: Fear not, only believe.

But because I have spoken these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart. But yet I tell you the truth: it is profitable for you that I go away. For if I go not away, the Paraclete will not come to you. But if I go away, I will send him to you.
