"And to the angel of the assembly in Laodicea write these things," saith the Amen, the Faithful and the True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God: "I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. Because you say, 'I am rich, and have gotten riches, and have need of nothing'; and do not know that you are the wretched one, and pitiable, and poor, and blind, and naked! I counsel you to buy of Me gold refined by fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may clothe yourself, and that the shame of your nakedness may not be made manifest; and eye-salve to anoint your eyes, that you may see! As many as I love, I reprove and chasten. Be zealous, therefore, and repent. And it came to pass, as He was saying these things, that a certain woman, out of the multitude, lifting up her voice, said to Him, "Happy the womb that carried Thee, and the breasts which Thou didst suck!" But He said, "Yea, rather, happy are those who hear the word of God, and keep it!"

"Verily, verily, I say to you, He that hears My word, and believes Him Who sent Me, has eternal life, and comes not into judgment, but has passed out of death into life. Verily, verily, I say to you, the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those having heard shall live.

The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him, to show to His servants the things which must shortly come to pass; and, having sent, He signified them through His angel to His servant John; who testified of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ, whatsoever things he saw. "Not every one who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter into the Kingdom of Heaven, but he that does the will of My Father in Heaven.
