The day following Jesus desired to go forth into Galilee and found Philip and said unto him, Follow me.

And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brothers, Simon, called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea, for they were fishers. And he said unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. And they straightway left their nets and followed him. read more.
And going on from there, he saw another two brothers, James the son of Zebedee and John his brother, in a ship with Zebedee their father, mending their nets, and he called them. And they immediately left the ship and their father and followed him.

And as Jesus passed forth from there, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom; and he said unto him, Follow me. And he arose and followed him. And it came to pass, as he sat at food in his house, behold, many publicans and sinners that had come sat down at the table with Jesus and his disciples.

Now the names of the twelve apostles are these: the first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee and John his brother; Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the publican; James the son of Alphaeus, and Lebbaeus, whose surname was Thaddaeus; Simon the Canaanite and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.

And he went up to the mountain and called unto himself whom he would, and they came unto him. And he established twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach and to have power to heal sicknesses and to cast out devils: read more.

And when it was day, he called unto him his disciples; and of them he chose twelve, whom he also named apostles: Simon (whom he also named Peter) and Andrew his brother, James and John, Philip and Bartholomew, Matthew and Thomas, James the son of Alphaeus and Simon called Zelotes read more.
and Judas the brother of James and Judas Iscariot, who also was the traitor.

Now as he walked by the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew his brother casting a net into the sea, for they were fishers. And Jesus said unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.

And after these things he went forth and saw a publican, named Levi, sitting at the receipt of custom, and he said unto him, Follow me.

And he entered into a ship and passed over and came into his own city. And, behold, they brought him a paralyzed man, lying on a bed; and Jesus, seeing their faith, said unto the paralyzed man, Trust, son; thy sins are forgiven thee. And, behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, This man blasphemes. read more.
And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Why think ye evil in your hearts? For what is easier, to say, Thy sins are forgiven thee, or to say, Arise, and walk? But that ye may know that the Son of man has power on earth to forgive sins (then said he to the paralyzed man), Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house. Then he arose and departed to his house. And the multitude, seeing it, marvelled and glorified God, who had given such power unto men. And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why does your Master eat with publicans and sinners? But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, Those that are whole need not a physician, but those that are sick. Therefore go ye and learn what this is, I will have mercy and not sacrifice, for I am not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance. Then the disciples of John came to him, saying, Why do we and the Pharisees fast often, but thy disciples do not fast? And Jesus said unto them, Can the sons of the bridechamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? But the days will come when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then they shall fast. No one mends an old garment with a piece of new cloth, for that patch takes from the garment, and the rent is made worse. Neither do they put new wine into old wineskins, otherwise the wineskins break, and the wine runs out, and the wineskins perish; but they put new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved together. While he spoke these things unto them, behold, a certain ruler came and worshipped him, saying, My daughter is even now dead; but come and lay thy hand upon her, and she shall live. And Jesus arose and followed him, and so did his disciples. And, behold, a woman who was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years came behind him and touched the hem of his garment; for she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be free. But Jesus turned around, and when he saw her, he said, Trust, daughter; thy faith has made thee free. And the woman was free from that hour. And when Jesus came into the ruler's house and saw the minstrels and the people making a noise, he said unto them, Give place, for the maid is not dead, but sleeps. And they laughed him to scorn. But when the people were put forth, he went in and took her by the hand, and the maid arose. And the fame of this went abroad into all that land.

And when they were come to Capernaum, those that received the two drachmas came to Peter and said, Does not your master pay the two drachmas?

And they entered into Capernaum, and straightway on the sabbath days he entered into the synagogue and taught. And they marvelled at his learning, for he taught them as one that had power with him, and not as the scribes. And there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit, and he cried out, read more.
saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? Art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God. And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Be silent, and come out of him. And the unclean spirit tore him and cried with a loud voice and came out of him. And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What thing is this? What new doctrine is this? for he commands the unclean spirits with power, and they obey him. And immediately his fame spread abroad throughout all the region round about Galilee. And forthwith, when they were come out of the synagogue, they entered into the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John. But Simon's mother-in-law lay sick of a fever, and soon they told him of her. And he came and took her by the hand and lifted her up; and the fever left her by and by, and she ministered unto them. In the evening, when the sun was down, they brought unto him all that were diseased and those that were possessed with devils. And all the city was gathered together at the door. And he healed many that were sick of diverse diseases and cast out many devils and suffered not the devils to speak because they knew him. And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out and departed into a solitary place and prayed there. And Simon and those that were with him followed after him. And when they had found him, they said unto him, All men seek for thee. And he said unto them, Let us go into the next towns that I may preach there also, for truly I came forth for that purpose. And he preached in their synagogues throughout all Galilee and cast out devils. And a leper came to him, beseeching him and kneeling down to him and saying unto him, If thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. And Jesus, having mercy on him, put forth his hand and touched him and said unto him, I will; be thou clean. And as soon as he had spoken, immediately the leprosy departed from him, and he was clean. And he straitly charged him and forthwith sent him away and said unto him, See thou say nothing to any man, but go, show thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing those things which Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them. But he went out and began to publish it much and to blaze abroad the matter, insomuch that Jesus could no more openly enter into the city, but was without in desert places; and they came to him from every quarter.

And he entered again into the synagogue, and there was a man there who had a withered hand. And they watched him, whether he would heal him on the sabbath day, that they might accuse him. So he said unto the man who had the withered hand, Stand forth. read more.
And he said unto them, Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath days or to do evil? to save the person or to kill them? But they were silent. And looking round about on them with anger, being grieved for the blindness of their hearts, he said unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it out and his hand was restored whole as the other. And as the Pharisees went forth, they took counsel with the Herodians against him, to kill him.

Now when he had ended all his words in the audience of the people, he entered into Capernaum. And a certain centurion's slave, who was dear unto him, was sick and ready to die. And when he heard of Jesus, he sent unto him the elders of the Jews, beseeching him that he would come and free his slave. read more.
And when they came to Jesus, they besought him instantly, saying, That he is worthy that this should be done for him, for he loves our nation and he has built us a synagogue. Then Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying unto him, Lord, trouble not thyself, for I am not worthy that thou should enter under my roof; therefore neither did I think myself worthy to come unto thee but say the word, and my slave shall be healed. For I also am a man set under authority, having soldiers under me, and I say unto one, Go, and he goes; and to another, Come, and he comes; and to my slave, Do this, and he does it. When Jesus heard these things, he marvelled at him and turned about and said unto the people that followed him, I say unto you that not even in Israel have I found such great faith. And those that had been sent, returning to the house, found the slave that had been sick whole.

So Jesus came again into Cana of Galilee, where he had made the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman whose son was sick at Capernaum. When he heard that Jesus was come out of Judaea into Galilee, he went unto him and besought him that he would come down and heal his son, for he was at the point of death. Then Jesus said unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe. read more.
The nobleman said unto him, Sir, come down before my child dies. Jesus said unto him, Go; thy son lives. And the man believed the word that Jesus spoke unto him, and he went. And as he was now going down, his slaves met him and told him, saying, Thy son lives. Then he enquired of them the hour when he began to get better. And they said unto him, Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him. So the father knew that it was at the same hour in which Jesus said unto him, Thy son lives; and he believed, and his whole house.

and entered into a ship and were crossing the sea toward Capernaum. And it was now dark, and Jesus had not come to them. And the sea arose by reason of a great wind that blew. So when they had rowed about twenty-five or thirty furlongs, they saw Jesus walking upon the sea and drawing nigh unto the ship, and they were afraid. read more.
But he said unto them, I AM; be not afraid. Then they willingly received him into the ship, and immediately the ship was at the land where they went. The day following when the multitude which was on the other side of the sea saw that there was no other boat there except the one in which his disciples had entered and that Jesus had not gone with his disciples into the boat, but that his disciples had gone away alone (but other boats came from Tiberias near unto the place where they ate bread after the Lord had given thanks); when the people therefore saw that Jesus was not there, nor his disciples, they also entered into the boats and came to Capernaum, seeking for Jesus. And when they had found him on the other side of the sea, they said unto him, Rabbi, when didst thou come here?

He said these things in the synagogue as he taught in Capernaum.

Therefore, whosoever hears these words of mine and does them, I will liken him unto a prudent man, who built his house upon the rock;

And the disciples went and did as Jesus commanded them

And the disciples did as Jesus had appointed them, and they made ready the passover.

And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night and have taken nothing; nevertheless, at thy word I will let down the net.

Whosoever comes to me and hears my words and does them, I will show you to whom he is like:

Jesus said unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim.

As soon as she heard that, she arose quickly and came unto him.

And he said unto them, Cast the net on the right hand side of the ship, and ye shall find. They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes.

And after these things he went forth and saw a publican, named Levi, sitting at the receipt of custom, and he said unto him, Follow me. And he left all, rose up, and followed him.

And he went again unto the sea; and all the multitude resorted unto him, and he taught them. And as he passed by, he saw Levi the son of Alphaeus sitting at the receipt of custom and said unto him, Follow me. And he arose and followed him.

And after these things he went forth and saw a publican, named Levi, sitting at the receipt of custom, and he said unto him, Follow me. And he left all, rose up, and followed him.
