And they all ate, and were satisfied; and they took up that which remained over of the broken pieces, twelve baskets full. And those eating were about five thousand men, besides women and children.

And they all ate, and were satisfied. And they took up broken pieces, twelve basketfuls, and from the fishes. And those who ate the loaves were five thousand men.

But He said to them, "Give ye them to eat." And they said, "We have no more than five loaves and two fishes; unless we, going, should buy food for all this people." And this He said, proving him; for He Himself knew what He was about to do. Jesus, therefore, took the loaves; and, having given thanks, He distributed to those reclining; and likewise of the fishes as much as they wished. And, when they were filled, He saith to His disciples, "Gather up the pieces that remain over, that nothing be lost." So they gathered them up, and filled twelve baskets with pieces from the five barley loaves, which remained over to those who had eaten. The men, therefore, seeing the sign that He did, said, "This, truly, is the Prophet Who cometh into the world."
