And the third angel sounded; and a great star, burning like a lamp, fell from the heaven, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of the waters. And the name of the star is called Apsinth. And the third part of the waters became apsinth; and many of the men died from the waters, because they were bitter.

And I saw another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he continued to speak as the dragon. And he exercises all the authority of the first beast before him. And he makes the earth and those dwelling in it, that they shall worship the first beast, whose wound of his death was healed. And when I saw him, I fell at his feet like a dead man; and he laid his right hand on me, saying, Fear not; I am the first and the last: the living one, and I was dead; and, behold, I am alive unto the ages of the ages, and I have the keys of death and of Hades.
