Then Herod the tetrarch, being reproved by him for Herodias his brother Philip's wife and for all the evils which Herod had done,

and said unto those that sold the doves, Take these things away from here; do not make my Father's house a house of merchandise.

and said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.





How is it that ye do not understand that I did not speak to you concerning bread that ye should keep yourselves from the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees?

Do ye not yet understand, neither remember the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?


But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of the heavens in front of men, for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye those that are entering to go in.



And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? How is it that ye have no faith?

But they were terrified and frightened, and supposed that they were seeing a spirit. And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts?


Finally he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at the table and upbraided them for their unbelief and hardness of heart because they did not believe those who had seen him after he was risen.

And as Jesus understood it, he said unto them, Why argue ye because ye have no bread? Do ye not consider nor understand? is your heart yet blind?




Then he began to upbraid the cities wherein most of his mighty works were done because they repented not: Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works which were done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. But I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the day of judgment than for you. read more.
And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted unto heaven, shalt be brought down to Hades, for if the mighty works which have been done in thee had been done in those of Sodom, it would have remained until this day. Therefore I say unto you, That it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment than for thee.


Then I meditated unto myself, and I rebuked the principals and the rulers and said unto them, Does each one of you exact usury of his brother? And I set a great assembly against them.


But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation?
