They put him in custody until the will and command of the Lord might be made clear to them.

The very night before Herod was to bring him forward, Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains, and sentries were in front of the door guarding the prison.


So they arrested them and put them in jail until the next day, because it was evening.
