And all the people said unto Samuel, Pray for thy slaves unto the LORD thy God that we not die, for we have added unto all our sins this evil, to ask for a king over us.

Pray for us: for we trust we have a good conscience in all things desiring to conduct ourselves well.

and for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth with confidence, to make known the mystery of the gospel,

Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course and be glorified, even as it is with you,

Then the king answered and said unto the man of God, Intreat now the face of the LORD thy God and pray for me, that my hand may be restored me again. And the man of God besought the LORD, and the king's hand was restored him again and became as it was before.

Then Simon answered and said, Pray ye to the Lord for me that none of these things which ye have spoken come upon me.


And the sons of Israel said to Samuel, Cease not to cry unto the LORD our God for us that he will save us out of the hand of the Philistines.


Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in the place of his holiness? He that has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not taken my name in vain, nor sworn deceitfully.

Open ye the gates, that the righteous nation which keeps the truth may enter in.










And if thou must deal thus with me, kill me, I pray thee, out of hand, if I have found grace in thy sight; and let me not see my wretchedness.

But he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness and came and sat down under a juniper tree; and desiring to die, he said, It is enough; now, O LORD, take away my life, for I am not better than my fathers.

And he said unto her, What dost thou desire? She said unto him, Grant that these my two sons may sit the one on thy right hand and the other on the left in thy kingdom.




Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass that, Jesus also being baptized and praying, the heaven was opened,

Jesus spoke these words and lifted up his eyes to heaven and said, Father, the hour is come; clarify thy Son, that thy Son may also clarify thee,

Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus, lifting up his eyes, said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me.


And he withdrew from them about a stone's cast and kneeled down and prayed, saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me; nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.


But so much the more his fame went forth, and great multitudes came together to hear and to be healed by him of their infirmities. But he withdrew himself into the wilderness and prayed.


And when he had dispatched them, he departed into the mountain to pray. And when night was come, the ship was in the midst of the sea, and he alone on the land.


And it came to pass as he was alone praying, his disciples were with him, and he asked them, saying, Who do the people say that I am?
