He that answereth a matter before he heareth it, it is folly and shame unto him.

They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches; None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him: (For the redemption of their soul is precious, and it ceaseth for ever:) read more.
That he should still live for ever, and not see corruption. For he seeth that wise men die, likewise the fool and the brutish person perish, and leave their wealth to others. Their inward thought is, that their houses shall continue for ever, and their dwelling places to all generations; they call their lands after their own names. Nevertheless man being in honour abideth not: he is like the beasts that perish. This their way is their folly: yet their posterity approve their sayings. Selah.

The crown of the wise is their riches: but the foolishness of fools is folly.



The words of a man's mouth are as deep waters, and the wellspring of wisdom as a flowing brook.





Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her; for she is thy life.

It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him.







And Moses made an end of speaking all these words to all Israel: And he said unto them, Set your hearts unto all the words which I testify among you this day, which ye shall command your children to observe to do, all the words of this law. For it is not a vain thing for you; because it is your life: and through this thing ye shall prolong your days in the land, whither ye go over Jordan to possess it.








In the lips of him that hath understanding wisdom is found: but a rod is for the back of him that is void of understanding.

He that is void of wisdom despiseth his neighbour: but a man of understanding holdeth his peace.

Counsel in the heart of man is like deep water; but a man of understanding will draw it out.


He that getteth wisdom loveth his own soul: he that keepeth understanding shall find good.

A scorner seeketh wisdom, and findeth it not: but knowledge is easy unto him that understandeth.

The heart of him that hath understanding seeketh knowledge: but the mouth of fools feedeth on foolishness.


Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his: And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:

For the transgression of a land many are the princes thereof: but by a man of understanding and knowledge the state thereof shall be prolonged.

Doth not wisdom cry? and understanding put forth her voice? She standeth in the top of high places, by the way in the places of the paths. She crieth at the gates, at the entry of the city, at the coming in at the doors. read more.
Unto you, O men, I call; and my voice is to the sons of man. O ye simple, understand wisdom: and, ye fools, be ye of an understanding heart. Hear; for I will speak of excellent things; and the opening of my lips shall be right things. For my mouth shall speak truth; and wickedness is an abomination to my lips. All the words of my mouth are in righteousness; there is nothing froward or perverse in them. They are all plain to him that understandeth, and right to them that find knowledge.

Wisdom is before him that hath understanding; but the eyes of a fool are in the ends of the earth.
