Proverbs 2:1

My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and keep my commandments by thee,

Proverbs 2:2

that thou wilt incline thin ears unto wisdom; apply thine heart then to understanding.

Proverbs 2:3

For if thou criest after wisdom, and callest for knowledge;

Proverbs 2:4

If thou seekest after her as after money, and diggest for her as for treasures;

Proverbs 2:5

then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.

Proverbs 2:6

For it is the LORD that giveth wisdom, out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.

Proverbs 2:7

He preserveth the welfare of the righteous, and defendeth them that walk innocently;

Proverbs 2:8

He keepeth them in the right path, and preserveth the way of his saints.

Proverbs 2:9

Then shalt thou understand righteousness, judgment and equity - yea, and every good path.

Proverbs 2:10

When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and thy soul delighteth in knowledge;

Proverbs 2:11

then shall counsel preserve thee, and understanding shall keep thee.

Proverbs 2:12

That thou mayest be delivered from the evil way, and from the man that speaketh froward things;

Proverbs 2:13

From such as leave the high street, and walk in the ways of darkness;

Proverbs 2:14

Which rejoice in doing evil, and delight in wicked things:

Proverbs 2:15

Whose ways are crooked, and their paths slanderous;

Proverbs 2:16

That thou mayest be delivered also from the strange woman, and from her that is not thine own: which giveth sweet words,

Proverbs 2:17

forsaketh the husband of her youth, and forgetteth the covenant of her God.

Proverbs 2:18

For her house is inclined unto death, and her paths into hell.

Proverbs 2:19

All they that go in unto her, come not again, neither take they hold of the way of life.

Proverbs 2:20

Therefore walk thou in the good way, and keep the paths of the righteous.

Proverbs 2:21

For the just shall dwell in the land, and the innocent shall remain in it.

Proverbs 2:22

But the ungodly shall be rooted out of the land, and the wicked doers shall be taken out of it.
