Know well the condition of your flock, and pay attention to your herds, for wealth is not forever; not even a crown lasts for all time.

I—I am the One who comforts you.
Who are you that you should fear man who dies,
or a son of man who is given up like grass?

As for man, his days are like grass- he blooms like a flower of the field; when the wind passes over it, it vanishes, and its place is no longer known.

dismayed, and ashamed.

grass on the rooftops,
blasted by the east wind.

but the one who is rich should boast in his humiliation because he will pass away like a flower of the field.
