and he said, "The LORD is my Rock, my fortress, and my deliverer, even mine;



my loving kindness, my fortress, my high tower, my deliverer, my shield, and he in whom I take refuge; who subdues my people under me.



and he said, "The LORD is my Rock, my fortress, and my deliverer, even mine;


Therefore I make a decree, that every people, nation, and language, which speak anything evil against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be reduced to rubble; because there is no other god who is able to deliver in this way."

But I am poor and needy. May the Lord think about me. You are my help and my deliverer. Do not delay, my God.

Blessed be the LORD, my Rock, who teaches my hands to war, and my fingers to battle: my loving kindness, my fortress, my high tower, my deliverer, my shield, and he in whom I take refuge; who subdues my people under me.

They will fight against you; but they will not prevail against you; for I am with you," says the LORD, "to deliver you."


Be to me a rock of refuge to which I may always go. Give the command to save me, for you are my rock and my fortress.

The cords of death surrounded me. The floods of ungodliness made me afraid. The cords of Sheol were around me. The snares of death came on me. In my distress I called on the LORD, and cried to my God. He heard my voice out of his temple. My cry before him came into his ears. Then the earth shook and trembled. The foundations also of the mountains quaked and were shaken, because he was angry. Smoke went out of his nostrils. Consuming fire came out of his mouth. Coals were kindled by it. He bowed the heavens also, and came down. Thick darkness was under his feet. He rode on a cherub, and flew. Yes, he soared on the wings of the wind. He made darkness his hiding place, his pavilion around him, darkness of waters, thick clouds of the skies. At the brightness before him his thick clouds passed, hailstones and coals of fire. The LORD also thundered in the sky. The Most High uttered his voice: hailstones and coals of fire. He sent out his arrows, and scattered them; Yes, great lightning bolts, and routed them. Then the channels of waters appeared. The foundations of the world were laid bare at your rebuke, LORD, at the blast of the breath of your nostrils. He sent from on high. He took me. He drew me out of many waters. He delivered me from my strong enemy, from those who hated me; for they were too mighty for me. They came on me in the day of my calamity, but the LORD was my support. He brought me forth also into a large place. He delivered me, because he delighted in me.


A man shall be as a hiding place from the wind, and a shelter from the storm, as streams of water in a dry place, as the shade of a large rock in a weary land.

Bow down your ear to me. Deliver me speedily. Be to me a strong rock, a house of defense to save me.


and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank of a spiritual rock that followed them, and the rock was Christ.



The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spoke to me, 'One who rules over men righteously, who rules in the fear of God,

For who is God, besides the LORD? Who is a rock, besides our God?






You are happy, Israel. Who is like you, a people saved by the LORD, the shield of your help, the sword of your excellency. Your enemies shall submit themselves to you. You shall tread on their high places."





For you will bless the righteous. LORD, you will surround him with favor as with a shield.

For our shield belongs to the LORD; our king to the Holy One of Israel.

You have also given me the shield of your salvation. Your right hand sustains me. Your gentleness has made me great.

Do not kill them, or my people may forget. Scatter them by your power, and bring them down, Lord our shield.
