And [when he] heard [it], he said, "Those who are healthy do not have need of a physician, but those {who are sick}. But go [and] learn what it means, "I want mercy and not sacrifice." For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners."

Many things, O Yahweh my God, you have done-- your wonderful deeds and your thoughts toward us. There is none to compare with you. If I [tried to] proclaim and tell [of them], they would be too numerous to count. A sacrifice and offering you do not desire. {My ears you have opened}. Burnt offering and sin offering you have not demanded.

For the law, possessing a shadow of the good [things] that are about to come, not the form of things itself, [is] never able {year by year} by means of the same sacrifices which they offer without interruption to make perfect those who draw near. For otherwise, would they not have ceased to be offered, because the ones who worship, having been purified once and for all, would no longer have any consciousness of sins? But in them [there is] a reminder of sins {year by year}. read more.
For [it is] impossible [for] the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins. Therefore, [when he] came into the world, he said, "Sacrifice and offering you did not want, but a body you prepared for me; you did not delight in whole burnt offerings and [offerings] for sins. Then I said, 'Behold, I have come-- in the roll of the book it is written about me-- to do your will, O God.' [When he] says above, "Sacrifices and offerings and whole burnt offerings and [offerings] for sin you did not want, nor did you delight in," which are offered according to the law, then he has said, "Behold, I have come to do your will." He takes away the first in order to establish the second,



And they were singing the song of Moses, the slave of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying: "Great and marvelous [are] your works, Lord God All-Powerful; righteous and true [are] your ways, King of the ages!

He has made his wonders {to be remembered}; Yahweh [is] gracious and compassionate.


He has made everything suitable in its time. He also has put {the past} in their hearts, yet no one can grasp what God does from the beginning to the end.

to declare with a voice of thanksgiving, and tell of all your wondrous deeds.

Many things, O Yahweh my God, you have done-- your wonderful deeds and your thoughts toward us. There is none to compare with you. If I [tried to] proclaim and tell [of them], they would be too numerous to count.

I praise you, because I am fearfully [and] wonderfully [made]. Wonderful [are] your works, and my soul knows [it] well.


But I [am] poor and needy. Let my Lord consider me. You [are] my help and my deliverer. O my God, do not delay.

And to me, how precious are your thoughts, O God; how vast is their sum.



And Jesus answered [and] said to them, "Go [and] tell John what you hear and see: the blind receive sight and the lame walk, lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear, and the dead are raised, and the poor have good news announced to [them].

And he answered [and] said to them, "Go [and] tell John what you have seen and heard: the blind receive sight, the lame walk, lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear; the dead are raised, the poor have good news announced to [them].

And he said to them, "These [are] my words that I spoke to you [while I] was still with you, that everything that is written about me in the law of Moses and the prophets and psalms must be fulfilled." Then he opened their minds to understand the scriptures, and said to them, "Thus it is written [that] the Christ would suffer and would rise from the dead on the third day, read more.
and repentance and the forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in his name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem.

Many things, O Yahweh my God, you have done-- your wonderful deeds and your thoughts toward us. There is none to compare with you. If I [tried to] proclaim and tell [of them], they would be too numerous to count. A sacrifice and offering you do not desire. {My ears you have opened}. Indeed, God speaks in one [way], even in two, [yet] [someone] does not perceive it. "In a dream, a vision of [the] night, when a deep sleep falls on men slumbering on [their] bed, then he opens [the] ear of men, and {he frightens them with a warning} read more.
to turn human beings aside [from their] deeds, and he keeps man from pride. He spares his life from [the] pit and his life from passing over the river [of death]. "And he is reproved with pain on his bed, even [with] the strife of his bones continually,

Look, God [is] mighty but does not despise [anyone]; [he is] mighty [and] {good in understanding}. He does not keep [the] wicked alive but grants justice [to the] afflicted. He does not withdraw his eyes from [the] righteous, but he sets them forever with kings on the throne, and they are exalted. read more.
"And if [they] are tied up with fetters, [if] they are caught in [the] cords of misery, then he declares their work to them, and their transgressions, that they are behaving arrogantly. So he opens their ear to the discipline, and he commands that they return from mischief. If they listen and serve [him], they complete their days in prosperity and their years in pleasantness. But if they do not listen, they perish by [the] sword, and they pass away without knowledge. And [the] godless of heart cherish anger; they do not cry for help when he binds them. {They die in their youth}, and their life [ends] among the male shrine prostitutes. He delivers [the] afflicted by his misery, and he opens their ears by the adversity.

The Lord Yahweh has given me [the] tongue of pupil, to know how to help [the] weary [with] a word. He awakens {morning by morning}, awakens an ear for me to listen as [do] the pupils. The Lord Yahweh has opened an ear for me, and I, I was not rebellious. I did not turn backwards;



Hear the word of Yahweh, rulers of Sodom! Listen [to] the teaching of our God, people of Gomorrah! What [is the] abundance of your sacrifices to me? says Yahweh. I have had enough [of] burnt offerings of rams and [the] fat [of] fattened animals and I do not delight in [the] blood of bulls and ram-lambs and goats. When you come to appear before me, who asked for this from your hand: you trampling my courts? read more.
You must not {continue} to bring offerings of futility, incense--it [is] an abomination to me; new moon and Sabbath, [the] calling of a convocation-- I cannot endure iniquity with [solemn] assembly. Your new moons and your appointed festivals my soul hates; they have become to me like burden, I am not able to bear [them].
