Psalm 41:1

([Psalm of David]) Blessed (happy) is the one who has concern for helpless people. Jehovah will rescue (save) him in times of trouble.

Psalm 41:2

Jehovah will guard him and keep him alive. He will be blessed in the land. Do not place him at the mercy of his enemies.

Psalm 41:3

Jehovah will support him on his sickbed. You will restore him to health when he is ill.

Psalm 41:4

I said: O Jehovah, be gracious to me! Heal me for I have sinned against you.

Psalm 41:5

My enemies say evil things about me: When will he die, and when will his family name disappear?

Psalm 41:6

When one of them comes to visit me, he speaks falsehood. His heart collects gossip. Then he leaves to tell others.

Psalm 41:7

All who hate me whisper together (gossip) against me; against me they devise my hurt, saying:

Psalm 41:8

A wicked thing is poured out upon him, that when he lies down, he will not rise up again.

Psalm 41:9

Even my close friend in whom I trusted, who ate my bread, has lifted up his heel against me.

Psalm 41:10

Be gracious to me and raise me up, O Jehovah, that I may repay them.

Psalm 41:11

By this I know that you are pleased with me, because my enemy does not shout in triumph over me.

Psalm 41:12

You uphold me in my integrity. You set me in your presence forever.

Psalm 41:13

Blessed be Jehovah, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting. Amen and Amen.
