[Roaring] deep calls to [roaring] deep at the thunder of Your waterspouts; all Your breakers and Your rolling waves have gone over me. Yet the Lord will command His loving-kindness in the daytime, and in the night His song shall be with me, a prayer to the God of my life.

But about midnight when Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns of praise to God, and the prisoners were listening to them;
Let the godly ones exult in glory;
Let them sing for joy on their beds.
You will have a song as in the night when a holy feast is kept,
And joy of heart as when one marches [in procession] with a flute,
To go to the [temple on the] mountain of the Lord, to the Rock of Israel.
I will remember my song in the night;
I will meditate with my heart,
And my spirit searches:
“But no one says, ‘Where is God my Maker,
Who gives songs [of rejoicing] in the night,
Yet the Lord will command His lovingkindness in the daytime,
And in the night His song will be with me,
A prayer to the God of my life.
