Psalm 59:1

{To the Chanter, Destroy Not, Michtam of David, when Saul sent to watch the house, to the intent to kill him} Deliver me from mine enemies, O my God, and defend me from them that rise up against me.

Psalm 59:2

O deliver me from the wicked doers, and save me from the bloodthirsty men.

Psalm 59:3

For lo, they lie in waiting for my soul; the mighty men are gathered together against me, without any offense or fault of me, O LORD.

Psalm 59:4

They run and prepare themselves, without my fault; Arise thou therefore to help me, and behold.

Psalm 59:5

Stand up, O LORD God of Hosts, thou God of Israel, to visit all Heathen; be not merciful unto them that offend of malicious wickedness. Selah.

Psalm 59:6

Let them go to and fro, and run about the city, howling like dogs.

Psalm 59:7

Behold, they speak against me with their mouth, and swords are under their lips, for who reproveth them?

Psalm 59:8

But thou, O LORD, shalt have them in derision, thou shalt laugh all the Heathen to scorn.

Psalm 59:9

My strength will I ascribe unto thee; for thou art the God of my refuge.

Psalm 59:10

God showeth me his goodness plenteously; and God shall let me see my desire upon mine enemies.

Psalm 59:11

Slay them not, lest my people forget it: but scatter them abroad with thy power, and put them down, O LORD our defense.

Psalm 59:12

For the sin of their mouth, for the words of their lips, and because of their pride, let them be taken. And why? Their preaching is of cursing and lies.

Psalm 59:13

Consume them in thy wrath; consume them that they may perish, and know that it is God which ruleth in Jacob and in all the world. Selah.

Psalm 59:14

Let them go to and fro, and run about the city, howling like dogs.

Psalm 59:15

Let them run here and there for meat, and grudge when they have not enough.

Psalm 59:16

As for me, I will sing of thy power, and praise thy mercy betimes in the morning: for thou hast been my defense and refuge in the day of my trouble.

Psalm 59:17

Unto thee, O my strength, will I sing; for thou, O God, art my refuge, and my merciful God.
