Who have sharpened their tongue like a sword, and have aimed their arrow, a bitter word;



Who have sharpened their tongue like a sword, and have aimed their arrow, a bitter word;

For I have heard the slander of many terror on every side when they take counsel together against me: they plot to take away my life.

And they opened their mouth wide against me; they said, Aha! aha! our eye hath seen it.

Mine enemies wish me evil: When will he die, and his name perish?


My soul is in the midst of lions; I lie down among them that breathe out flames, the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword.

Who have sharpened their tongue like a sword, and have aimed their arrow, a bitter word;



For they sleep not except they have done mischief, and their sleep is taken away unless they have caused some to fall.


Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children that corrupt themselves! They have forsaken Jehovah; they have despised the Holy One of Israel; they are turned away backward.

Who have sharpened their tongue like a sword, and have aimed their arrow, a bitter word;

raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shames; wandering stars, to whom has been reserved the gloom of darkness for eternity.

Thou hast loved evil rather than good, lying rather than to speak righteousness. Selah.


The wicked plotteth against the righteous, and gnasheth his teeth against him.

But the wicked are like the troubled sea, which cannot rest, and whose waters cast up mire and dirt.
