You have freed me from the feuds among the people;
You have appointed me the head of nations;
a people I had not known serve me.

For I have endured insults because of You, and shame has covered my face. I have become a stranger to my brothers and a foreigner to my mother's sons because zeal for Your house has consumed me, and the insults of those who insult You have fallen on me.


I trampled the winepress alone,
and no one from the nations was with Me.
I trampled them in My anger
and ground them underfoot in My fury;
their blood spattered My garments,
and all My clothes were stained.



For even the Messiah did not please Himself. On the contrary, as it is written, The insults of those who insult You have fallen on Me.

Do not let those who put their hope in You be disgraced because of me, Lord God of Hosts; do not let those who seek You be humiliated because of me, God of Israel.
