Then Moses grieved before the LORD his God and said, LORD, why shall thy wrath wax hot against thy people, which thou hast brought forth out of the land of Egypt with great power and with a mighty hand?


O LORD, rebuke me not in thy wrath: neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure.

O God, why hast thou cast us off for ever? Why does thine anger smoke against the sheep of thy pasture? Remember thy congregation, which thou hast purchased of old; the rod of thine inheritance, which thou hast redeemed, this Mount Zion, in which thou hast dwelt.



Then Jesus said unto them, All ye shall be offended because of me this night; for it is written, I will smite the Shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad.


and he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.

O God, why hast thou cast us off for ever? Why does thine anger smoke against the sheep of thy pasture?

So we thy people and sheep of thy pasture will give thee thanks for ever: from generation to generation we will sing thy praises.



As the hart pants after the water brooks, so does my soul pant after thee, O God.

Why dost thou boast of evil, O strong man? The mercy of God is day by day.


I will sing of the mercies of the LORD for ever; with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations.
