For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication;
but to write to them to abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from what is strangled, and from blood.

The beginning of contention is as when one letteth out water; therefore leave off strife before it become vehement.
It is an honour for a man to cease from strife; but every fool rusheth into it.
Go not forth hastily to strive, lest thou know not what to do in the end thereof, when thy neighbour hath put thee to shame. Debate thy cause with thy neighbour, but reveal not the secret of another; lest he that heareth it disgrace thee, and thine evil report turn not away.
