For, through law, I have died to law, that I might live to God.

If, then, you have died with Christ from the elements of the world, why, as though living in the world, do you submit to ordinances?

It can not be. How shall we that are dead to sin, live any longer in it?

It can not be. How shall we that are dead to sin, live any longer in it?

If, then, you have died with Christ from the elements of the world, why, as though living in the world, do you submit to ordinances?

But if Christ is in you, the body is dead, on account of sin, but the Spirit is life, on ac count of righteousness. And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he that raised the Christ from the dead will give life to your mortal bodies, because of his Spirit that dwells in you.

It can not be. How shall we that are dead to sin, live any longer in it? Know you not that as many of us as were immersed into Christ Jesus, were immersed into his death? Therefore, we are buried with him, by immersion, into death, that as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, so also we should walk in a new life. read more.
For if we have become united to him by the likeness of his death, we shall certainly be united to him by the likeness of his resurrection; knowing this, that our former man has been crucified with him, in order that the sinful body may be deprived of its power, so that we should no longer serve sin: for he that is dead is freed from sin. Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him; because we know that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more; death has dominion over him no longer; for, as it regards his dying, he, once for all, died to sin; but as it regards his living, he lives to God. So also do you count yourselves as dead indeed to sin, but as living to God, in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Know you not, brethren, for I speak to you that are acquainted with law, that the law has dominion over a man as long as he lives? For the woman that has a husband, is bound by the law to her husband as long as he lives: but if her husband die, she is loosed from the law of her husband. So then, if, while her husband lives, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress. But if her husband die, she is free from the law; so that she is not an adulteress, though she be married to another man. read more.
So then, my brethren, you, also, have died to the law, by the body of the Christ, in order that you may be married to another, to him who was raised from the dead that we should bring forth fruit to God. For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions which were excited by the law, were active in our members, so as to bring forth fruit to death: but now we are made free from the law, being dead to that by which we were bound, so that we may serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter. What, then, shall we say? Is the law sin? It can not be. Indeed, I had not known sin, except through law. For I had not known evil desire, unless the law had said: You shall not have any evil desire. But sin, taking occasion through the commandment, rendered active within me every evil desire. For without the law, sin was dead. Indeed, I was alive with out the law, once; but when the commandment came, sin be came alive, and I died: and the commandment, which was given for life, I found to be for death.

What, then, shall we say? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? It can not be. How shall we that are dead to sin, live any longer in it? Know you not that as many of us as were immersed into Christ Jesus, were immersed into his death? read more.

But with respect to virgins, I have no commandment of the Lord: yet I give my judgment as one that is enabled, by the mercy of the Lord, to be faithful.

and yet you refuse to come to me, that you may have life.

Verily, verily I say to you, He that hears my word, and believes on him that sent me, has eternal life, and comes not into condemnation, but has passed from death into life. Verily, verily I say to you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear, shall live. For as the Father has life in himself, so has he given to the Son also to have life in himself;

Jesus said to her: I am the resurrection, and the life; he that believes on me, though he were dead, yet shall he live; and he that lives and believes on me, shall never die. Do you believe this?

THAT which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled concerning the Word of life; (the life also was manifested, and we have seen, and do testify, and declare to you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested to us;)

Jesus answered and said to him: Verily, verily I say to you, unless a man be born again, he can not see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus said to him: How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter his mother's womb the second time, and be born? Jesus answered: Verily, verily I say to you, unless a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he can not enter into the kingdom of God. read more.
That which is begotten of the flesh, is flesh; and that which is begotten of the Spirit, is spirit. Wonder not that I said to you, you must all be born again, The Spirit breathes where he pleases, and you hear his voice, but you know not whence he comes, and whither he goes; so is every one that is begotten of the Spirit. Nicodemus answered and said to him: How can these things be? Jesus answered and said to him: Are you the teacher of Israel, and do not understand these things? Verily, verily, I say to you, we speak that which we know, and testify to that which we have seen; and you receive not our testimony. If I have told you of earthly things, and you believe not, how will you believe, if I tell you of heavenly things? And no man has ascended into heaven, but he who came down from heaven, the Son of man, who is in heaven. And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of man be lifted up; that whoever believes on him may not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes on him should not perish, but have eternal life.

as thou hast given him authority over all flesh, that he may give eternal life to all that thou hast given him. And this is life eternal, to know thee, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou has sent.

For if we have become united to him by the likeness of his death, we shall certainly be united to him by the likeness of his resurrection;

But now, since you have been made free from sin, and have become servants to God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, eternal life. For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal "life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
