Adultery » Who commits adultery
But I say to you, That whoever puts away his wife, unless for lewdness, and marries another, commits adultery; and he that marries her that is put away, commits adultery.
It has been said: Whoever will put away his wife, let him give her a bill of divorce. But I say to you, Whoever shall put away his wife, unless on account of lewdness, causes her to commit adultery: and whoever marries her that is divorced, commits adultery.
And he said to them: Whoever puts away his wife, and marries another, commits adultery against her; and if a woman puts away her husband, and is married to another, she commits adultery.
Whoever divorces his wife and marries another, commits adultery: and whoever marries her that is divorced, commits adultery.
Know you not, brethren, for I speak to you that are acquainted with law, that the law has dominion over a man as long as he lives? For the woman that has a husband, is bound by the law to her husband as long as he lives: but if her husband die, she is loosed from the law of her husband. So then, if, while her husband lives, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress. But if her husband die, she is free from the law; so that she is not an adulteress, though she be married to another man.

If, then, you have died with Christ from the elements of the world, why, as though living in the world, do you submit to ordinances?
But if Christ is in you, the body is dead, on account of sin, but the Spirit is life, on ac count of righteousness. And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he that raised the Christ from the dead will give life to your mortal bodies, because of his Spirit that dwells in you.
It can not be. How shall we that are dead to sin, live any longer in it? Know you not that as many of us as were immersed into Christ Jesus, were immersed into his death? But their minds were blinded: for till this day, in the reading of the old covenant, the same vail remains not taken away, which vail is removed in Christ. But to this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart: but whenever their heart shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away.
For Christ is the end of the law for justification, to every one that believes.

knowing that a man is not justified by works of law, but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed on Christ Jesus, that we may be justified by faith in Christ, and not by works of law: because, by works of law no flesh shall be justified. But if, while we seek to be justified in Christ, we ourselves are also found sinners, is Christ, there fore, the minister of sin? It can not be. For, through law, I have died to law, that I might live to God. I have been crucified with Christ, yet I live; no longer I, but Christ lives in me. And the life which I now live in the flesh, I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. I do not set aside the grace of God: for if righteousness be through law, then Christ has died in vain.

Christ has bought us off from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us: (for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangs on a tree:) in order that the blessing of Abraham may come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we may receive the promise of the Spirit through the faith.

The wife is bound as long as her husband lives; but if her husband die, she is free to be married to whom she will, only in the Lord. But she is happier, in my judgment, if she remains as she is; and I think that I have, also, the Spirit of God.
