If thou should encounter thine enemy's ox or his ass astray, thou shalt surely bring it back to him again.



If I rejoiced at the destruction of the one that hated me or lifted up myself when evil found him;


If thy enemy is hungry, give him bread to eat, and if he is thirsty, give him water to drink, for thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head, and the LORD shall reward thee.






We then that are stronger ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not please ourselves. Let each one of us please his neighbour in that which is good, unto edification.




Now three friends of Job, Eliphaz, the Temanite, Bildad, the Shuhite, and Zophar, the Naamathite, when they heard of all this evil that had come upon him, each one came from his own place; for they had made an appointment together to come to mourn with him and to comfort him.

Now Elisha was fallen sick of his sickness of which he died. And Joash the king of Israel came down unto him, and wept over his face, and said, O my father, my father, the chariots of Israel, and the horsemen thereof!


And King Joram went back to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds which the Syrians had given him at Ramah, when he fought against Hazael, king of Syria. And Ahaziah, the son of Jehoram king of Judah, went down to see Joram, the son of Ahab in Jezreel, because he was sick.





Therefore, if food makes my brother to fall, I will never eat flesh nor do anything which may cause my brother to fall.


Let us, therefore, not judge one another any more, but judge this rather: that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way.




And looking round about on those who sat about him, he said, Behold my mother and my brethren!
