And David besought God for the child; and David fasted, and went in, and lay all night on the earth.
And he said, Thou canst not see my face; for Man shall not see me, and live.
Son of man, speak unto the elders of Israel, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Are ye come to inquire of me? As I live, saith the Lord Jehovah, I will not be inquired of by you.
But Jehovah was wroth with me on your account, and did not hear me; and Jehovah said to me, Let it suffice thee; speak no more unto me of this matter!
For this I thrice besought the Lord that it might depart from me.
