the Human nature of Christ » Was necessary to his mediatorial office
For, since through man came death, through man comes also the resurrection of the dead.
But when the fullness of the time came, God sent forth his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, that he might buy off those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption.
For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,
"Wherefore, it behooved him to be made like his brethren in all things, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, in order to make expiation for the sins of the people.
I speak of what is common among men, oil account of the weakness of your flesh: for as you have presented your members as servants to uncleanness, and to lawlessness, in order to lawlessness, so now present your members as servants to righteousness, in order to holiness.
What then? Shall we sin, because we are not under law, but under grace? It can not be.

For the law makes men high priests, who have infirmity; but the word of the oath, which was after the law, makes the Son, who is perfected forever.
For we have not a high priest that can not sympathize with our infirmities; but he was tempted in all things like ourselves, yet without sin.

And you know that he was manifested, that he might take away our sins; and in him there is no sin.
For such a high priest is suited to us, who is holy, harm less, undefiled, separate from sinners, and exalted above the heavens;
Which of you convicts me of sin? If I speak the truth, why do you not believe me?
He did no sin, nor was guile found in his mouth.
Pilate said to him: What is truth? And when he had said this, he again came out to the Jews, and said to them: I find no fault in him.

For, verily, he does not take hold of angels, but he takes hold of the posterity of Abraham.

Then Jesus said to them: My soul is encompassed with sorrow even to death; remain here, and watch with me.

THAT which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled concerning the Word of life; (the life also was manifested, and we have seen, and do testify, and declare to you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested to us;)
