Thematic Bible: The goodness of the lord

Thematic Bible

Once again there will be sounds of joy and gladness and the glad celebrations of brides and grooms. Once again people will bring their thank offerings to the temple of the Lord and will say, "Give thanks to the Lord who rules over all. For the Lord is good and his unfailing love lasts forever." For I, the Lord, affirm that I will restore the land to what it was in days of old.'

The Lord is both kind and fair; that is why he teaches sinners the right way to live.

The Lord is good to all, and has compassion on all he has made.

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good and his loyal love endures.

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, and his loyal love endures!

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good and his loyal love endures!

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his loyal love endures.

For the Lord is good. His loyal love endures, and he is faithful through all generations.

(Tet) You are good to your servant, O Lord, just as you promised. Teach me proper discernment and understanding! For I consider your commands to be reliable. Before I was afflicted I used to stray off, but now I keep your instructions. read more.
You are good and you do good. Teach me your statutes!

"You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor' and 'hate your enemy.' But I say to you, love your enemy and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be like your Father in heaven, since he causes the sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.

The Lord said to his people: "You are standing at the crossroads. So consider your path. Ask where the old, reliable paths are. Ask where the path is that leads to blessing and follow it. If you do, you will find rest for your souls." But they said, "We will not follow it!"

Slaves, obey your human masters with fear and trembling, in the sincerity of your heart as to Christ, not like those who do their work only when someone is watching -- as people-pleasers -- but as slaves of Christ doing the will of God from the heart. Obey with enthusiasm, as though serving the Lord and not people, read more.
because you know that each person, whether slave or free, if he does something good, this will be rewarded by the Lord.

Do whatever is proper and good before the Lord so that it may go well with you and that you may enter and occupy the good land that he promised your ancestors,

And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners do the same. And if you lend to those from whom you hope to be repaid, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, so that they may be repaid in full. But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, because he is kind to ungrateful and evil people.

Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except by God's appointment, and the authorities that exist have been instituted by God. So the person who resists such authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will incur judgment (for rulers cause no fear for good conduct but for bad). Do you desire not to fear authority? Do good and you will receive its commendation,

For the music director; according to the machalath style; a well-written song by David. Fools say to themselves, "There is no God." They sin and commit evil deeds; none of them does what is right.

What then? Are we better off? Certainly not, for we have already charged that Jews and Greeks alike are all under sin, just as it is written: "There is no one righteous, not even one, there is no one who understands, there is no one who seeks God. read more.
All have turned away, together they have become worthless; there is no one who shows kindness, not even one."

For the music director; by David. Fools say to themselves, "There is no God." They sin and commit evil deeds; none of them does what is right. The Lord looks down from heaven at the human race, to see if there is anyone who is wise and seeks God. Everyone rejects God; they are all morally corrupt. None of them does what is right, not even one! read more.
All those who behave wickedly do not understand -- those who devour my people as if they were eating bread, and do not call out to the Lord.

Now someone came up to him and said, "Teacher, what good thing must I do to gain eternal life?" He said to him, "Why do you ask me about what is good? There is only one who is good. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments."

In the same way, every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree is not able to bear bad fruit, nor a bad tree to bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. read more.
So then, you will recognize them by their fruit.

The good person brings good things out of his good treasury, and the evil person brings evil things out of his evil treasury.

"For no good tree bears bad fruit, nor again does a bad tree bear good fruit, for each tree is known by its own fruit. For figs are not gathered from thorns, nor are grapes picked from brambles. The good person out of the good treasury of his heart produces good, and the evil person out of his evil treasury produces evil, for his mouth speaks from what fills his heart.

Your faith and love have arisen from the hope laid up for you in heaven, which you have heard about in the message of truth, the gospel that has come to you. Just as in the entire world this gospel is bearing fruit and growing, so it has also been bearing fruit and growing among you from the first day you heard it and understood the grace of God in truth.

"But I say to you who are listening: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.

The one who deals wisely in a matter will find success, and blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord.

The one who acquires wisdom loves himself; the one who preserves understanding will prosper.

The one who has a perverse heart does not find good, and the one who is deceitful in speech falls into trouble.

The one who diligently seeks good seeks favor, but the one who searches for evil -- it will come to him.

Those who call evil good and good evil are as good as dead, who turn darkness into light and light into darkness, who turn bitter into sweet and sweet into bitter.
