The leaves thereof were
fair, and the fruit thereof much, and in it was
meat for all: the beasts of the field had shadow under it, and the fowls of the heaven dwelt in the boughs thereof, and all flesh was fed of it.
And when he saw a fig tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves only, and said unto it, Let no fruit grow on thee henceforward for ever. And presently the fig tree withered away.
But yet in it shall be
a tenth, and it
shall return, and shall be eaten: as a teil tree, and as an oak, whose substance is
in them, when they cast their leaves: so
the holy seed shall be
the substance thereof.
