And they shall go into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of the earth, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth.

Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for apprehension of those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: For the great day of his wrath is come; and who will be able to stand?


Trouble and anguish shall make him afraid; they shall prevail against him, as a king ready to the battle.

A dreadful sound is in his ears: in prosperity the destroyer shall come upon him.

Fear and dread shall fall upon them; by the greatness of thy arm they shall be as still as a stone; till thy people pass over, O LORD, till the people pass over, which thou hast purchased.


Then Saul fell immediately all along on the earth, and was exceedingly afraid, because of the words of Samuel: and there was no strength in him; for he had eaten no bread all the day, nor all the night.

And when Saul saw the host of the Philistines, he was afraid, and his heart greatly trembled.


The fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him: but the desire of the righteous shall be granted.

When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you.


The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness hath surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?

Thy heart shall meditate terror. Where is the scribe? where is the receiver? where is he that counted the towers?



And it shall come to pass in the day that the LORD shall give thee rest from thy sorrow, and from thy fear, and from the hard bondage in which thou wast made to serve,


And Saul said to Samuel, I have sinned: for I have transgressed the commandment of the LORD, and thy words; because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice.

These words his parents spoke, because they feared the Jews: for the Jews had agreed already, that if any man confessed that he was Christ, he should be put out of the synagogue.






Say ye not, A confederacy, to all them to whom this people shall say, A confederacy; neither fear ye their fear, nor be afraid.


Trouble and anguish shall make him afraid; they shall prevail against him, as a king ready to the battle.

Terrors shall make him afraid on every side, and shall drive him to his feet.


I also will do this to you, I will even appoint over you terror, consumption, and the burning ague, that shall consume the eyes, and cause sorrow of heart: and ye shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it. And I will set my face against you, and ye shall be slain before your enemies: they that hate you shall reign over you, and ye shall flee when none pursueth you.




And there was trembling in the host, in the field, and among all the people: the garrison, and the spoilers, they also trembled, and the earth quaked: so it was a very great trembling.


And they stood every man in his place around the camp; and all the host ran, and cried, and fled. And the three hundred blew the trumpets, and the LORD set every man's sword against his fellow, even throughout all the host: and the host fled to Beth-shittah in Zereroth, and to the border of Abel-meholah, to Tabbath.


But a certain fearful apprehension of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.


And the covenant that I have made with you ye shall not forget; neither shall ye fear other gods.




And all the guests that were with Adonijah were afraid, and arose, and went every man his way.




Behold, thou hast driven me this day from the face of the earth; and from thy face shall I be hid; and I shall be a fugitive and a vagabond in the earth; and it will come to pass, that every one that findeth me will slay me.


How are they brought into desolation, as in a moment! they are utterly consumed with terrors.


Then the king's countenance was changed, and his thoughts troubled him, so that the joints of his loins were loosed, and his knees smote one against another.




And Esther said, The adversary and enemy is this wicked Haman. Then Haman was afraid before the king and the queen.


And it was told the house of David, saying, Syria is confederate with Ephraim. And his heart was moved, and the heart of his people, as the trees of the wood are moved with the wind.




Fearfulness and trembling have come upon me, and horror hath overwhelmed me.


When Pilate therefore heard that saying, he was the more afraid;
