And the battle went hard against Saul, and the archers hit him; and he was severely wounded of the archers.

All your rulers have fled together, they are captured by the archers: all that are found in you are bound together, who have fled from afar.

Against him that bends let the archer bend his bow, and against him that lifts himself up in his armor: and spare you not her young men; destroy you utterly all her army.

He has bent his bow like an enemy: he stood with his right hand as an adversary, and has slain all that were pleasant to the eye in the tent of the daughter of Zion: he poured out his fury like fire.



And they went out, they and all their armies with them, many people, even as the sand that is upon the sea shore in multitude, with horses and chariots very many.

Saying, No; but we will go into the land of Egypt, where we shall see no war, nor hear the sound of the trumpet, nor have hunger of bread; and there will we dwell:

They have blown the trumpet, even to make all ready; but none goes to the battle: for my wrath is upon all their multitude.

A day of the trumpet and alarm against the fortified cities, and against the high towers.
