and I remembered the word of the Lord, how He said, 'John, indeed, immersed in water, but ye shall be immersed in the Holy Spirit.'

Now in those days comes John, the Immerser, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea, saying, "Repent ye for the Kingdom of Heaven has drawn near; for this is he that was spoken of by Isaiah, the prophet, saying, 'A voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make His paths straight.'" read more.
And John himself had his raiment of camel's hair, and a leathern girdle about his loins; and his food was locusts and wild honey. Then were going forth to him Jerusalem, and all Judaea, and all the country round about the Jordan, and they were being immersed by him in the river Jordan, confessing their sins. But, seeing many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his immersion, he said to them, "Broods of vipers! who warned you to flee from the coming wrath! Produce, therefore, fruit worthy of repentance; and think not to say within yourselves, 'As a father we have Abraham;' for I say to you, that God is able out of these stones to raise up children to Abraham. And already the axe is lying at the root of the trees; every tree, therefore, not bearing good fruit, is cut down, and cast into the fire. And he preached, saying, "There cometh after me One Who is mightier than I, the latchet of Whose shoes I am not worthy, stooping down, to loose. I immersed you in water; but He will immerse you in the Holy Spirit."

And I knew Him not; but He who sent me to immerse in water, He said to me, 'Upon Whomsoever you shall see the Spirit descending and abiding on Him, the Same is He Who immerseth in the Holy Spirit.' And I have seen, and have testified, that This is the Son of God."
