He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he that is hasty of spirit exalts folly.
He that refuses instruction despises his own soul: but he that hears reproof gets understanding.
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endures forever.
Smite a scoffer, and the simple will beware: and reprove one that has understanding, and he will understand knowledge.
My son, if you will receive my words, and lay up my commandments with you; So that you incline your ear unto wisdom, and apply your heart to understanding; Yea, if you cry after knowledge, and lift up your voice for understanding; read more.
If you seek her as silver, and search for her as for hid treasures; Then shall you understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God. For the LORD gives wisdom: out of his mouth comes knowledge and understanding. He lays up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a shield to them that walk uprightly. He keeps the paths of justice, and preserves the way of his saints. Then shall you understand righteousness, and justice, and equity; yea, every good path.

Many shall be purified, and made white, and refined; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.

Unless your law had been my delights, I should then have perished in my affliction. I will never forget your precepts: for with them you have revived me. I am yours, save me; for I have sought your precepts. The wicked have waited for me to destroy me: but I will consider your testimonies. I have seen a limit to all perfection: but your commandment is exceedingly broad. [Mem] O how love I your law! it is my meditation all the day. You through your commandments have made me wiser than my enemies: for they are ever with me. I have more understanding than all my teachers: for your testimonies are my meditation. I understand more than the ancients, because I keep your precepts.
