Then they said to him: Who are you? And Jesus said to them: The same that I said to you at the beginning. I have many things to say, and to judge with respect to you; but he that sent me is true; and what things I have heard from him, these I speak to the world. They knew not that he was speaking to them of the Father. read more.
Then said Jesus to them: When you have lifted up the Son of man, then you will know that I am He, and that I do nothing of myself, but as the Father has taught me I speak these things. And he that sent me is with me. The Father has not left me alone, because I always do what is pleasing to him.


But Jesus answered them: My Father works till now, and I also work. For this reason, therefore, the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he had not only broken the sabbath, but also said that God was his own father, making himself equal with God. Then Jesus answered and said to them: Verily, verily I say to you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he sees the Father do; for whatever things he does, these also the Son does in like manner. read more.
For the Father loves the Son, and shows him all things that he himself does; and he will show him greater works than these, that you may be astonished.

Jesus said to them: I am the bread of life; he that comes to me shall never hunger; he that believes on me shall never thirst. But I said to you, that you have seen me, and yet you do not believe. All that the Father gives me, will come to me; and him that comes to me, I will by no means cast out. read more.
For I came down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of him that sent me.

Jesus answered: Neither this man sinned, nor his parents; but that the works of God might be made manifest in him. I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day; the night comes, when no man can work.

Jesus answered and said to him: If any one loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him, and make our abode with him. He that loves me not, keeps not my words; and the word which you hear is not mine, but the Father's who sent me. These things have I spoken to you, while I am yet with you. read more.
But the Paraclete, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I have spoken to you. Peace I leave to you; my peace I give to you; not as the world gives, do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, and let it not be afraid. You have heard that I said to you, I am going away, and am coming again to you. If you loved me, you would rejoice, because I go to the Father; for my Father is greater than I. And now I have told you before it comes to pass, that when it does come to pass, you may believe. I will not talk much more with you; for the prince of this world is coming, and has nothing in me. But this takes place that the world may know that I love the Father, and even as he gave me commandment, so I do. Arise, let us go hence.

Jesus spoke these words, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said: Father, the hour has come: glorify thy Son, that thy Son may also glorify thee; as thou hast given him authority over all flesh, that he may give eternal life to all that thou hast given him. And this is life eternal, to know thee, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou has sent. read more.
I have glorified thee on the earth; I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.

For it is impossible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. Wherefore, when he comes into the world, he says: Sacrifice and offering thou hast not desired, but a body thou hast prepared me; in whole burnt-offerings and offerings for sin, thou hast had no pleasure. read more.
Then, said I, Behold, I come, (in the roll of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, God. After saying above, Thou didst neither desire, nor take pleasure in sacrifice and offering and whole burnt-offerings and offerings for sin, which are offered according to the law, then he said, Behold, I come to do thy will: he takes away the first, that he may establish the second. By which will, we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ, once for all time.

Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man, for the Lord's sake; whether it be to the king, as supreme ruler, or to governors, as those sent by him for the punishment of evil-doers, and for the praise of those who do well. For such is the will of God, that by doing good you may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men;

For you know what commandments we gave you by our Lord Jesus. For this is the will of God, your sanctification, that you keep yourselves from lewdness; That each one of you know how to keep his vessel in sanctification and in honor, read more.
not in passionate desire, as the Gentiles do, who know not God; That no one take advantage of or injure his brother in this matter; because the Lord takes vengeance for all such things, as we also told you before, and fully testified: for God has not called us for uncleanness, but for holiness.

We exhort you, brethren, admonish the unruly, comfort the faint-hearted, earnestly care for the weak-minded, be of a long-suffering disposition toward all. See that no one render evil for evil to any, but always pursue that which is good toward one another and toward all. Rejoice always; read more.
pray without ceasing; in every thing give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.



While he was yet speaking to the multitudes, behold, his mother and his brothers stood without, desiring to speak to him. And some one said to him: Behold, your mother and your brothers stand without, desiring to speak to you. But he answered and said to him that told him: Who is my mother? and who are my brothers? read more.
And he stretched out his hand toward his disciples, and said: Behold my mother and my brothers. For whoever will do the will of my Father who is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.

His mother and his brothers came, therefore, and standing without, sent to him, and called him. And the multitude was sitting about him; and they said to him: Behold, your mother and your brothers are without, seeking you. And he answered them and said: "Who is my mother, or my brothers? read more.
And he looked round about on those who were sitting near him, and said: Behold, my mother and my brothers; for whoever will do the will of God, is my brother, and my sister, and mother.


Then Jesus answered and said: My teaching is not mine, but his who sent me. If any one will do his will, he shall know with respect to the teaching, whether it is of God, or I speak of myself.


Praised be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in heavenly things in Christ, according as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him in love, having predestinated us for adoption to himself through Jesus Christ, according to the good pleasure of his will, read more.
for the praise of the glory of his grace, by which he has shown us favor in the Beloved, in whom we have redemption through his blood, even the remission of sins, according to the riches of his grace, which he has made to abound to us in all wisdom and understanding, by making known to us the mystery of his will according to his good purpose which he had before established in himself, for a dispensation at the fullness of the times, in order that he might bring together for himself all things in the Christ, both those which are in the heavens, and those which are on earth; in him in whom we have obtained our portion, having been predestinated according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will,

In like manner, also, the Spirit helps our infirmities; for we know not what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit itself intercedes for us, with groanings unutterable. And he that searches the hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, that he intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.

grace be to you, and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father,



For the Son of man has come to save that which is lost. What think you? If a man have a hundred sheep, and one of them go astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine, and go into the mountains, and seek for that which has gone astray? And if it so be that he find it, verily I say to you, he rejoices over it more than over the ninety-nine that did not go astray. read more.
Even so, it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven, that one of these little ones should be lost.


Wherefore, be not ignorant, but understand what the will of the Lord is.
