But the Lord had mercy on them and felt pity for them. He extended his favor to them because of the promise he had made to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. He has been unwilling to destroy them or remove them from his presence to this very day.
For there on my holy mountain, the high mountain of Israel, declares the sovereign Lord, all the house of Israel will serve me, all of them in the land. I will accept them there, and there I will seek your contributions and your choice gifts, with all your holy things. And God, who knows the heart, has testified to them by giving them the Holy Spirit just as he did to us,
Do not blame your people Israel whom you redeemed, O Lord, and do not hold them accountable for the bloodshed of an innocent person." Then atonement will be made for the bloodshed.
I, the servant of my lord the king, give it all to the king!" Araunah also told the king, "May the Lord your God show you favor!"
To do righteousness and justice is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.
May my words and my thoughts be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my sheltering rock and my redeemer.
Therefore I exhort you, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a sacrifice -- alive, holy, and pleasing to God -- which is your reasonable service.
For the one who serves Christ in this way is pleasing to God and approved by people.
