Moreover the LORD says, Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, and walk with outstretched necks and wanton eyes, walking and tripping as they go, and making a jingling with their feet: Therefore the Lord will strike with a scab the crown of the head of the daughters of Zion, and the LORD will uncover their secret parts. The pendants, and the bracelets, and the veils, The headdresses, and the ornaments of the legs, and the headbands, and the perfume boxes, and the charms, The rings, and nose rings, The festal robes, and the mantles, and the cloaks, and the handbags, The mirrors, and the fine linen, and the turbans, and the veils. And it shall come to pass, that instead of sweet fragrance there shall be a stench; and instead of a sash, a rope; and instead of well-set hair, baldness; and instead of a rich robe, a girding of sackcloth; and a burning scar instead of beauty.

In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with decency and propriety; not with braided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;

I adorned you also with ornaments, and I put bracelets upon your hands, and a chain on your neck. And I put a ring on your nose, and earrings in your ears, and a beautiful crown upon your head.

But (as becomes women professing godliness) with good works.

Not pilfering, but showing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in all things.
