They would have none of my counsel; they despised all my correction, and they shall eat the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own desires.

But he left the counsel of the old men which they had advised him, and talked with the young men who had grown up with him, who stood before him.

but you have despised all my advice, and would have none of my warning. I also will laugh at your trouble; I will mock when your fear comes;

Then they said, Come and let us plot schemes against Jeremiah. For the Law shall not perish from the priest, nor wisdom from the wise, nor the Word from the prophet. Come and let us strike him with the tongue, and let us not pay attention to any of his words.
